Youville is fortunate to have a number of community partners whose expertise augments the services provided to our mothers and children.

Algonquin College: Assistance with transition to post-secondary education, assistance for exceptional learning needs;

Carleton University: Post-secondary assistance, Bridging Program for mature applicants;

Children's Aid Society (CAS): Parenting resources, child protection, custody information;

City of Ottawa Health Department: Provides Public Health Nurse for immunization, counselling, sexuality education, recreation, fitness and sport, First Words Clinic;

Crossroads Children's Centre: Provides access to mental health services for our mothers and their children. Crossroads uses our gym for three weeks of respite camps each summer.

iSIsters Technology Mentoring Inc.: iSisters is a Canadian charitable organization that was founded in 2001 by a group of teachers who wanted to contribute to their community. iSisters connects women in need with technology through mentoring. Our purpose is to create technology learning opportunities through partnerships with non-profit organizations that support women in need.

Invest in Kids - The Parenting Partnership: First-time parents expecting their baby late November 2006 to early January 2007, March and April 2007 can now enroll in a free, prenatal and parenting program. This is a two and a half year pilot program designed to help first-time parents gain the skills needed to give their child the best start in life and to meet the day-to-day challenges they face as a couple and as a family. The first locations—in the GTA, Hamilton/Niagara and Ottawa-Carleton regions—are now registering eligible parents.

LEAP (Learning, Earning and Parenting): A mandatory program for 16 and 17 year-old parents on Ontario Works (OW), voluntary for 18-21 year-olds who have not completed high school. LEAP provides learning opportunities, child care, cash benefits, education expenses, job readiness skills and parenting support.

OCRI (Ottawa Centre For Research and Innovation): Provides training for Smart-site volunteers who facilitate computer accessibility for our teen parents.

Ottawa Technical Learning Centre: Transition process for students requiring technical and trade skills leading to job opportunities

Ottawa Police Services: School Resource Officer (SRO) presence, personal safety and domestic violence information, crime prevention

Sandy Hill Community Health Centre: provides the services of an addiction counsellor on-site weekly

Social Planning Council: A unique resource for issues affecting social and economic well-being

Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition: Sponsored by Public Health and YSPSN (Young Single Parent Support Network)

Young/Single Parent Support Network: A collaborative network of four agencies sharing clientele, programs and resources: Bethany Hope Centre, Emily Murphy Non-profit Housing, St. Mary's Home and Outreach Centre and Youville Centre.
