Alumnae Support

Although funding from United Way for our Alumnae Program has ended necessitating cutbacks in our services for former students and their families, we are still able to connect with our Alumnae via our alumnae web site as well as through our monthly e-mail newsletters to our graduates.

In addition to our web site and newsletters, support for Alumnae has been provided in a variety of other ways as well: special events, presentations, access to bursaries and assistance for family needs.

Examples include:

Alumnae and New Graduates Gathering, June 2011 – a breakfast event in Kinsella Hall introducing newly-graduated alumnae to services available to them “after Youville”;
OSAP Information Presentation – followed by one-on-one assistance with applications;
Bursaries were awarded to Alumnae Jessica Cain, Victoria Desilets, Jennifer Farrell, Claudia Gaspar, Chloe Holm-Andrew, Amina Isse, Dominique Molzan, Julie Stewart, Nicole Summers-Van Ness and Kristin Walsh for post-secondary studies;
Three children of former Youville students received $1,000 bursaries for post-secondary education: Stephanie Kootoo, daughter of Toonee Kootoo-Chiarello (1996); Jennifer Noseworthy, daughter of Wanda Noseworthy, (1990) and Jaime Villeneuve, son of Darlene Villeneuve, (1993).

Our alumnae web site focuses on areas of ongoing interest for our graduates: getting a job, completing education, finding helpful community services.

Our monthly newsletters aim to keep graduates abreast of interesting developments at Youville while bringing to their attention programs and services available for them.
