Alumnae Support

Although funding from United Way for our Alumnae Program has ended necessitating cutbacks in our services for former students and their families, we are still able to connect with our Alumnae via our alumnae web site as well as through our monthly e-mail newsletters to our graduates.

In addition to our web site and newsletters, support for Alumnae has been provided in a variety of other ways as well. Youville Centre gives support to our alumnae, through the distribution of bursaries made available from generous donors, continue to be part of our tradition. This year saw the introduction of an additional bursary entitled “The Judith Sarginson Second Generation Bursary”. This bursary was awarded on behalf of our former Executive Director to a child (Nicholas Lynda) of a former Youville Centre graduate (Nathalie Lynda Mapp; 1992). Other second generation bursaries were awarded to Jennifer Noseworthy (daughter of Youville graduate Wanda Noseworthy; 1990), and Angela Riopelle (daughter of Youville graduate Lisa Riopelle; 1996). Further alumnae bursaries were awarded to Diana Riabko, Alina Riabko, Chloe Connors, Jennifer Valiquette, Maranda Mole, Claudia Gaspar, Dominique Molzan, Nicole Summers-Van Ness and Brenna White.

Our alumnae web site focuses on areas of ongoing interest for our graduates: getting a job, completing education, finding helpful community services.

Our monthly newsletters aim to keep graduates abreast of interesting developments at Youville while bringing to their attention programs and services available for them.
