Help us Grow Mother’s Day Campaign: Watch our Daffodils Bloom!
In these blog posts you will meet the “Room Ambassadors”, learn what the infants or toddlers in that room do each day, and learn about some of the developmental skills they are working on.
At the bottom of each post we will be reminding you about the featured ways to give that are coming up in the Help us Grow Mother’s Day Campaign — take a look and see which events and in-store initiatives you can attend!
Please read and enjoy, share with friends and on social media with the hashtag #HelpYouvilleGrow
Watch our Daffodils Bloom!
At Youville Centre, our Daffodils are our youngest babies. They range in age from one month to six months old.
Meet the “Room Ambassadors”!
Maverick is one of the oldest infants in the room and he is getting ready to graduate to the Sunflower Room. Maverick is a social butterfly. Nothing makes him happier than interacting with the Early Childhood Educators and the other children in the Daffodil Room.
Mayah may seem like a very serious baby, until you see her during circle time at Me, My Baby, Our World! Mayah loves boucing and ‘talking’ and doing the actions to every song!
Each day, Maverick, Mayah and the other Daffodils eat, sleep, and play when it suits them, and our Early Childhood Educators respond appropriately to our babies’ needs in order to support healthy attachment. Currently over half of our Daffodils are breastfed. When it’s nice outside they play in the infant play yard or get in the strollers and go for a walk. Back inside, our Daffodils enjoy lots of one-on-one interaction, singing, playing, art and sensory activities.
The Daffodils enjoy lots of tummy time in order to help build the core strength they need to become successful in their future skills like: sitting, crawling, and the ability to use their hands to explore the world. Twice a week, most of our Daffodils take part in the Me, My Baby, Our World parenting program with their moms. To read more about Me, My Baby, Our World, visit our Parenting Programs page.
