Group Shot for Blog

Recently we held a Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast for any of our volunteers who were available to attend. We have approximately 30 volunteers in our Youville volunteer “family” — some are weekly, some provide support seasonally or on an on-call basis. Whatever their role in the centre, we value our volunteers very much, as they put their heart and soul into their work and we can rely on them to be the dedicated, passionate helpers that they are.

Our resident cooks, Kathy and Deb, prepared a lovely breakfast buffet of fruit and yogurt, granola, scones, and a beautiful apple spice cake with blueberries!

Child development staff used their creative talents to make coasters as a take-home gift from the event, and our volunteers loved choosing a coaster to take home — there were so many cute, smiling faces on the coasters so it was hard for them to choose just one! This is a cute reminder of the impact they are making in the lives of Youville’s young moms and babies.

Tea and coffee were enjoyed and volunteers had a great time getting to know each other, reconnecting, and spending time with staff.

Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers! We couldn’t do it without you!

Note: if you are interested in volunteering at Youville Centre, please click here to read more about our available roles and to fill out and send us an application.

We will be giving another group tour in November for potential volunteers, and then we will pause to resume volunteer recruitment in January. Thank you.
